The Notre-Dame de Reims carries for 800 years the reputation of the Champagne-Ardenne region around the world and continues to be the testimony of the history of France. Place of the coronation of the kings of France (twenty-nine kings of France were crowned in Reims between 1027 and 1825), the cathedral for the contemporary world acquires a European destiny after the Franco-German reconciliation formalized under its vaults by Charles de Gaulle and Konrad Adenauer in July 1962. Notre-Dame de Reims is also essential in terms of art history: the jewel of Gothic architecture, the cathedral, called a universal reference, is inscribed on the World Heritage List of UNESCO since December 1991 .
